Potato Productions is a holding company that provides support to startups and businesses aligned with its mission of using technology and innovation to do good - in the way they do business, as a byproduct, or as a direct impact of their work.

Challenge

As part of the Potato Productions group of companies, 55 Minutes was tasked to redesign Potato Productions’ company website. The website lacked personality and didn’t provide sufficient information to lend credibility to Potato and its companies or engage audiences. It also lacked functions for searchability.

Results

Deciding what’s important through research


We conducted a series of user interviews with eight candidates who fit the description of Potato’s target audience: tech-savvy, consume content mostly digitally, active on social media, and socially-conscious or intellectually-curious. The majority saw an attractive portfolio page as the most important part of a company website.

A consistent brand identity


When designing the user interface, we followed Potato’s brand guidelines very closely. The Potato brand is very contemporary and clean, so we instilled its minimalist look by utilising a lot of white space, keeping the typography big and bold, and drawing the focus to images and photographs whenever possible.

The revamped website featured a visually striking design, coupled with the user-friendly interface, which made the website informative and engaging. The interactive elements, such as the sliding sections, further contributed to a positive user experience. Overall, the redesign successfully achieved its goals of attracting potential employees, partners, and clients while aligning with the company's brand identity
