Our Better World tells stories of people doing good in Asia to inspire people to take action. Their goal is to empower individuals with the conviction that we each have the power to contribute to the greater good.
Challenge
Our Better World (OBW) are masters of storytelling who use their voice to amplify the stories of people doing good in communities across Asia. Having produced a series on mental health and another on the refugee crisis, OBW needed help differentiating their new series on the issue of illegal wildlife hunting and trade.
Solution
Immersing people in the forest habitat of Asia’s endangered species
Results
An engaging and intuitive experience to dive into
With amazing photos, videos, and stories on three key animals (the sun bear, pangolin, and slow loris), we designed a user experience to give the content the full attention it deserved. We curated video clips that would bring life to the website, and used large-scale, portrait images to create a deeper, emotional connection between the reader and the animals.
We designed the story pages to give readers the choice between watching the feature video, reading the written essay, or both. To encourage readers to take action, we designed simple call-to-actions to donate, volunteer, or share the story, accompanied with clear descriptions on how their action would directly help the animals.
Knowing many readers browse the site on mobile devices, we utilised a responsive design that would adapt well across various screen sizes.
The design created a positive user experience that was visually appealing, easy to navigate and emotionally engaging, captivating readers to increase their knowledge and empathy towards the cause of wildlife conservation.
