Challenge
HeyHi was undergoing a merger with SmartJen, an edtech platform that offered a collaborative whiteboard tool. The challenge was to integrate SmartJen’s features into HeyHi while creating an intuitive interface that appealed to a diverse user base.
Solution
A comprehensive rebrand to unify both platforms, featuring a new logo, brand strategy, website, and updated UX/UI design. The redesign prioritised ease of use, seamlessly integrating SmartJen’s assessment tools into HeyHi’s collaborative whiteboard.
Results
Strengthened brand identity
The rebranding effort resulted in a new logo and a cohesive, modern image that strengthened HeyHi's identity. By integrating key elements from all three platforms — assessment, collaboration, and academy — the rebrand reinforces the company's mission to use AI to make learning accessible and collaborative. The introduction of fun blob characters and triangle-shaped Theo adds an element of fun and enjoyment to the learning experience, so the platform remains engaging for its younger user base.
Improved usability and user experience
The user experience and user interface design were updated to improve user flows, simplifying the processes of creating, assigning, and tracking assignments for both tutors and students. The integration of SmartJen’s assessment tools with HeyHi’s collaborative whiteboard provided users with an intuitive experience. Additionally, the introduction of the eOAS quiz feature expanded the platform's digital assessment capabilities.
Seamless AI integration
AI was integrated into the platform in a way that felt natural and unobtrusive, enhancing the tutoring experience without overwhelming the user. For tutors, the AI tool provided powerful features to create personalised worksheets with precision, automatically targeting students' weak areas based on their performance data. This intelligent, data-driven approach not only saved tutors’ time but also ensured the worksheets were tailored to the individual needs of each student, fostering more effective learning.

The mobile-responsive website design greatly improved accessibility for prospective clients, allowing them to easily explore HeyHi's features, pricing, and success stories on-the-go. The streamlined interface made it simple for users to navigate, inquire about the platform, and try a demo, all while ensuring quick load times and intuitive design.
