Polaraud is a voice-powered journal where you can capture moments in your life and express your thoughts, feelings and experiences in your own voice.
Challenge
The positive effects of journaling to a person’s mental wellbeing have been long recognised and established. How might we harness the power of audio to make it easy for a person to unburden their cares and listen attentively to themself and the world around them?
Solution
Design an online mobile tool to enable people to record their own voice entries about what they are going through in life
Results
An alternative to writing
On Polaraud, you don’t need to write. You can speak, sing, rant, whisper, breathe, sigh - as long as it’s audible, it’s good enough. You can also record sounds around you! Polaraud captures it all - from the rustling of leaves to the sound of joy in your own voice.
The option to share with friends
Polaraud gives you the flexibility to keep your audio recording to yourself or to share with up to 20 friends and family you choose to confide in. The goal is to build a deeper connection - with others and with your own self.
Daily reflection starter
Polaraud provides a self-reflection prompt for when you need help on what to record, a mindful moment to spark ideas on topics to talk about.
Overall, Polaraud is designed to encourage an easy and accessible regular practice of audio journaling to enhance your self-awareness, reduce stress and improve mood.
